The latest release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • Music from SXSW
  • An Ann Arbor Band!
We know it has been a long time. We missed you, we promise. The good news is that Susie was at SXSW and brought back some great artists to listen to. The bad news is that DJ S Dubs has a new jobby job that takes up her time and made her move away from us. If you are lucky, maybe she'll still make guest appearances - we like her!

Email us some requests.

Featuring: Home from Breathe Owl Breathe, My First War from Rachael Cantu, Heartbeats from Jose Gonzalez, F-ck Was I from Jenny Owen Youngs, Rubber & Soul from Ane Brun (featuring Teitur), Chariot from Page France.

This release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • Trip-Hop!
  • A few longer songs
We have stressful lives. It seems like most people do: there are only so many hours in a day and often way more tasks to complete. But we love making podcasts- so even when busy or stressed or sleepy, we make this show for you.

Email us. With requests.

Featuring: For the Widows in Paradise; For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti from Sufjan Stevens, East Of Gary from Darrell Scott, We R in Need of a Musical Revolution from Esthero, Transatlanticism from Death Cab For Cutie, Dreams and Nightmares from Brianna Lane, Galaxies from Laura Veirs, The Trapeze Swinger from Iron & Wine.

[Feb 7, 2006]

This release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • Poker Night
  • Danielle visits!
  • You can hear Sammy in the background sometimes... okay, so only I like that, but whatever
We switched the podcast creation party to a cold Monday night with a special guest DJ and the promise of texas hold 'em to follow. D Money brought us some great song choices and the result is an awesome show. The band Kate couldn't think of for the Bad Reputation cover is Death Cab For Cutie.

Email us. We got some emails lately and I was so happy, even the snow couldn't bring me down. Susie actually said she is running out of music. We all know that isn't true, but help her stop worrying by making requests.

Featuring: Bad Reputation from Freedy Johnston, In The Sun from Joseph Arthur, Thugz Mansion from Tupac and Nas, Laid from Matt Nathanson, Picture from Doria Roberts, Broken White Line from Kris Delmhorst, Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta from Geto Boys.

  • Tips on eating healthy

We took a really long holiday break. I missed the podcast, I know you did as well. It is okay: we are back. Listen for some regionally titled songs and good times.

How many ways can I say this? We want to get emails from you about songs you like and want others to hear. We also want you to tell your friends about our show. There are fun instructions up at the top of this page to subscribe.

[Dec 15, 2005]

This release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • New family member
  • The Man Show!
  • S Dubs might sing
  • Snow (okay, that part is outside, but it seems important in my mind)
It's another snowy night in Michigan, but we finally got together and recorded a show. You can tell Kate is sad that no one emails us ever, but otherwise the studio was joyful and ready to create this grand collection of music we call a podcast. Also, S Dubs became a real member of the family.

No one emailed. Maybe you hate us. You could even tell us that. But it would be cooler if you said you liked us.

Featuring: Devil Spine from Gus Black, Have You Ever Seen The Rain? from Creedence Clearwater Revival, Wow from Snow Patrol, Yellow Bus from Kirk Mcleod, Delta 88 from Joshua Davis, Jacksonville Skyline from Whiskeytown, Colors Seem To Fade from Amos Lee.

[Dec 1, 2005]

This release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • Special! Guest! DJ! S! Dubs!
  • We all pretend it's December 1st
  • Good at math = dorky
  • Music to enjoy
In the midst of a down pour that actually lasted most of the day, we hid away in the basement to record this show. Last week we had a guest appearance from Sarah Cleaver -- this time we had a full fledged guest DJ in the house by the name of Sarah Weinstein. There was also a table tennis tournament with a certain team dominating the field. The field of two teams. Maybe that's not domination.

Make sure you email us to tell us all about how you liked the show and if you want to be a star or if you made any snow angels recently or for any other reason at all.

Featuring: Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You from Bob Dylan, Three of Us In A Boat from Jackopeirce, Ashes from Deb Talan, Tell You All from Chris Erickson, Divorce Song from Liz Phair, Hungry For Your Love from Van Morrison, Wade In The Water from Eva Cassidy.

[Nov 16, 2005]

This release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • Kate not talking
  • Good music
  • Shout outs
  • Special guest in the kitchen
Being the old pros that we are now, we took this show to the birthplace of creation - Susie's living room. At the time of recording, Kristen (famous for her part in Lazy Sunday) was sound asleep on the couch with her dog, Coda, curled up at her feet. Yes, it inspired cuteness all around. We also had a special guest, who may or may not have been wearing underwear at the time and making grilled cheese sandwiches. Email us! We heart you.

Featuring: Every Little Bit from Patty Griffin, Fear and Time from Melissa Ferrick, Coffee Stained from Kate Peterson, We Might As Well Be Strangers from Keane, Heard 'Em Say from Kayne West, Possession from Sarah McLachlan.

[Nov 9, 2005]

This release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • Good music
  • Somewhat witty comments
  • Sarah and Kate shows!
  • More Banjo
To get this episode out, we had to steal some time from our work schedules and ended up recording in a car. Luckily it was parked at the time, but stay tuned for the moving podcast next time. Give us feedback!

Featuring: Sand from Damien Rice, It's Not Happening from The Be Good Tonyas, 200 Years from Sarah Cleaver and Kate Peterson, All These Things That I've Done from The Killers, Free from Donavon Frankenreiter, Burning Bridges from Chris Pureka, Come Pick Me Up from Ryan Adams.

[Nov 3, 2005]

The first release of Verbal Audio includes these highlights:

  • Funny moments
  • Good music
  • Chris Bathgate Shows!
  • Proof that Kate is dorky
With this being our first podcast show ever, neither of us knew what to expect. There are a few rough moments that turned out to be our favorite clips and a few smooth transitions. Hopefully you'll enjoy the result and let us know about it.

Featuring: Reunion from Stars, I Will Follow You into the Dark from Death Cab For Cutie, Gold Mine Gutted from Bright Eyes, Buffalo Girl from The Ambitious Brothers, My Lady's House from Iron & Wine, Subdivision from Ani DiFranco.
