I'm going to graduate at the end of 2003 and would really like to be employed after that. It's strange to think about this career thing, because I've been working with computers and the web since I turned 16. I taught myself a lot of the knowledge I use in day to day projects, but I've also taken classes in formal "computer science." Some were more interesting and helpful than others.

The best class I've had would be the Major Design Experience (as UM calls it). I had a group of other students and we all worked together from the brainstorming software ideas through the actual coding and selling it (well, pretend selling it). My group made this software called QuickQuiz for the PocketPC platform and actually, the professor wanted to buy it... but then one guy wanted to keep working on it - and now nothing is going on with that. But the experience was great. Coordinating and collaborating.

I think I'll stay around the Ann Arbor area when I finish school - but I don't know that I will forever. I'm open to my future being what it may.

If I don't find a job in this crazy field, I'll bake bread or open a dog park.
